The Alberta Hang Gliding & Paragliding Association (AHPA) is the Alberta provincial affiliate of the Hang Gliding & Paragliding Association of Canada (HPAC/ACVL). Current HPAC members whom have listed their residence as Alberta are, by association, members of the AHPA. A portion of HPAC membership dues is given back to the AHPA for provincial projects and initiatives.

AHPA Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is appointed annually by the membership base. The Board is responsible for making decisions on behalf of the association, and managing association projects / initiatives. Further details on B.O.D. responsibilities and procedures can be viewed in the association bylaws. The 2022 Board of Directors is as follows:

AHPA Projects:

Your membership goes towards a number of exciting initiatives, all aimed at promoting Hang Gliding & Paragliding within the province of Alberta. Here are some of the different project we’re working on right now:

• Sponsorship of weather station projects for local sites;

• Advocacy and sponsorship of regional flying events;

• Provincial Parks advocacy with the goal of opening parks to free flight;

• Web management and development of this website;

• Promotion of provincial free flight at various events and venues.
